A Boy After the Sea
An enticing collection of recipes from our oceans, rivers and lakes created by 26 renowned chefs from 14 different countries.
Kevin Snook created a boy after the sea as a tribute to his son Dan, a free spirit taken too soon from his family, and to vanishing fish species of the world. Kevin’s journey to create a lasting legacy for his son began with a simple request for a recipe from his friend and chef extraordinaire Heston Blumenthal. With Heston’s contribution and endorsement many other renowned chefs agreed to join Kevin in his mission. The contributing chefs in a boy after the sea are of international repute, chefs who inspire others with their creativity and imagination. Each chef submitted a recipe focusing on their local rivers, lakes or oceans, with an emphasis on wild, sustainable and pure ingredients. The result is a remarkable collection of recipes from some of the finest chefs in the world today.
This finely crafted book features stunning photography, detailed recipes and a fascinating and thoughtful look into the problems affecting our natural waters.
“It is a testament to Kevin that he has gathered such an impressive collection of world-renowned chefs together in this book and I am honoured to find myself in such distinguished company.” (From Foreword by Heston Blumenthal)
